"Childlike Faith"

This whimsical painting was inspired by a friend’s childhood memory and captures the beauty of childlike faith through the image of a small historic neighborhood church in Pennsylvania. As young girls, she and her sister felt gently led by the Lord to that little church—where they first heard the good news, the gospel of Jesus Christ. The soft, cloudy sky, dotted with light, creates a dreamlike atmosphere, while loose, playful brushstrokes hint at the innocence of memory. The church’s gentle green door and a white cross above draw the viewer inward, and the lush bushes bursting with textured greens and whites give the scene a sense of life and joy. At the top, a tiny blue bird perches on the roofline, lifting a song to the heavens of “Holy, Holy, Holy,” symbolizing the sweetness and purity of hearing God’s voice for the first time.
The artwork invites viewers to reflect on their own first encounters with God—those tender, sacred moments when the Lord’s call became unmistakably personal.
